A 28-member delegation from the Malawian Defence Force Senior Command and Staff College, led by Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Crispin Phiri has conducted a week-long study tour of security institutions in Ghana.

The study tour themed ‘Strengthening Management and Combating Transnational Organised Crimes to Foster Regional Security and Development’ was conducted to understand how they combat transnational organised crime and promote regional stability.

Brig Gen Phiri was grateful for the developing collaboration between both militaries and was hopeful same would strengthen the bilateral ties between both nations.

The Deputy Commandant of the College, Colonel Matambo commended Ghana for its reputation as one of Africa’s most stable democracies, noting that it was important for students at the Command College to study the policies and practices that have contributed to the country's enduring peace.

He affirmed that these insights would significantly enhance the professional development of the college’s officers.

The Director General for Human Resources (Personnel Administration), Air Commodore Thomas Nii Fio Okai, received the delegation on behalf of the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Mensah-Larkai and commended them for choosing Ghana as a destination for their study tour.

He encouraged the visiting officers to utilise the opportunity to broaden their strategic perspectives fully and commended them for choosing Ghana as a destination for their study tour. He further noted that Ghana’s security sector offers valuable lessons for promoting both national and regional peace and stability.
