The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in collaboration with the Jospong Group of Companies has launched the maiden edition of the Jospong Young Executive Military Orientation Training Course 1-25 at the Army Training Command (ATRAC), Teshie on Monday, 8 September 2025.

The four-week course seeks to equip the young executives with the skills and knowledge required to support the goals of Jospong in expanding the company across the African continent.

Commander ATRAC, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Joshua Amanor explained that the training would offer a comprehensive package which includes practical skills such as personal security and first aid, alongside soft skills like emotional intelligence and stress management.

He noted that success in a global environment depends on several competencies, underscoring the vital roles executives will play as Ghana’s representatives abroad.

The Head of Jospong Academy, Brigadier General Mark Akpatsu (Rtd), stated that the course is not a military-style boot camp but focuses on personal development, time management and cultural awareness. He explained that the training is designed to provide staff with the mental orientation needed to adapt to diverse environments across the continent.

Brig Gen Akpatsu (Rtd) added that the performance of the first cohort would significantly influence the expansion plans of the company in over 25 African countries.

The Head of Human Resource at Jospong Group of Companies, Mrs Nancy Fynn-Thompson encouraged the young executives to embrace the opportunity, describing it as a crucial step in their personal and professional growth.

She further urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills to foster growth and innovation while upholding the core values of the company which will serve as the foundation for their professional journey.
