The Electrical Mechanical Engineering Technical Training School (EMETTS) has organised a three-day sports competition for participants of Upgrading Course 2 at the Chiringa and Nicholson Sports Complex in Burma Camp, from 24 to 26 September 2024.

The competition featured various sporting activities including basketball, volleyball, tug of peace, and soccer, among four teams namely; Spanner, Hammer, Shackle, and Punch Platoons to foster esprit de corps and morale.

The Guest of Honour, Colonel Sham-Un Zuneidu, General Coordinator Training at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), commended the students and staff for their sportsmanship and camaraderie. He expressed optimism that the games would help uncover new talent for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) sports teams and the national squads. He also encouraged other GAF training schools to replicate the event and urged the students to maintain discipline, excel academically and make the best out of the 6 months course.

Commanding Officer of EMETTS, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Essilfie Odoom, urged the students to engage in healthy sporting activities outside the classroom to build camaraderie across disciplines.

At the end of the competition, the Hammer platoon claimed victory in both basketball and soccer, emerging as the overall winner.
