The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) William Agyapong, has presented United Nations compensation to Warrant Officer Class One (WOI) Alhassan Habib, on Tuesday 22 July 2025. The Warrant Officer who sustained injuries in a car accident during his tour of duty with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, Ghana Battalion 89 (UNIFIL GHANBATT 89) received the compensation when the CDS paid a familiarisation visit to the 3 Garrison. The compensation forms part of a broader framework designed by the United Nations to ensure the well-being and financial stability of individuals affected by unforeseen incidents, including death, injury or illness in the line of duty.
