In line with military tradition of formally accepting young soldiers into units upon completing regimentation, the 93 Signal Regiment held a Lanyard Presentation Parade for 75 young soldiers on Wednesday, 25 September 2024. 

The ceremony took place at the 6 Infantry Battalion's parade square to officially welcome the first batch of young soldiers posted to the unit after six months of intensive continuation training. 

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brig Gen Frank Nartey Tei, who was the Reviewing Officer, expressed satisfaction with the unit’s training progress, development, and support to Northern Command. He commended the young soldiers for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training, reminding them of the duties they would now undertake, and urged them to apply the knowledge gained. 

The GOC further encouraged them to uphold the oath of service and remain disciplined, as this is the hallmark of the military. He also stressed the importance of remaining professional and apolitical as the country prepares for the upcoming general elections. 

In attendance were the Base Commander of Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai, staff officers from Headquarters Northern Command, Commanding Officer 93 Signal Regiment Lt Col Benjamin Adjei, Commanding Officer 6 Infantry Battalion Lt Col Jerry Yao Ankuyi, senior officers, soldiers, and Defence Civilian Staff of the unit.
